On behalf of the Professors and staff of our Department, I welcome you to the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia.
The studies you have chosen open a huge window of opportunities for you. In essence, a Chemical Engineer applies the main foundations of engineering i.e., mathematics, physics, chemistry, but also biology, to conceive and design processes involved in chemical manufacturing. The main role of chemical engineers is to design and troubleshoot processes for the production of chemicals, fuels, foods and pharmaceuticals, to name just a few. Chemical engineers affect the production of almost every product manufactured on an industrial scale.

Chemical Engineering is a dynamically developing field. For this reason, the study program of our Department follows all modern developments and attempts to respond to new challenges in order to provide our graduates with all the tools necessary for their professional lives.
