2. LEARNING OUTCOMES

Learning Outcomes

With the successful completion of the course the student will be able to:
• fully understands the requirements of the Technical Plan and its various types,
• has the ability to apply the ISO principles/regulations of the Technical Plan,
• creates a Technical Plan for objects of low and medium complexity (according to ISO),
• evaluates the correctness of a Technical Drawing in terms of: the description of a three-dimensional object and the correct application of ISO regulations,
• constructs on a computer a Technical Drawing of objects of low complexity with suitable software,
• sufficiently knows the basic elements of using Technical Drawings in typical applications of engineering studies,
• has knowledge of the difficulties in applying ISO regulations in the Technical Plan and in general in engineering work.

General Skills

The general competencies that the student should have acquired and that the course aims to develop are:

- Search, analysis and synthesis of data and information.

- Application of theoretical knowledge in practice.

- Decision making on targeted and general problems.

3. COURSE CONTENTS

Basic ISO regulations for drawing (grammography, drawing instruments, line types and thicknesses, their use, standard paper sizes, standard letters). Introduction to computer-aided design (introduction to CAD, categories of CAD software, presentation capabilities in Mechanical Drawing with CAD, equipment for CAD/CAM, examples). Views (types of views, technical drawing, construction drawing, assembly drawing, regulations and presentation systems). Sections (general principles and regulations of section design, types of sections, their use and characteristics, design rules). Dimensions (ISO regulations and general principles of dimensioning, special dimension symbols, basic methods and examples of dimensioning). Drawing types (schematic drawings, construction drawings, parts list, flowcharts, examples).

4. TEACHING METHODS – ASSESSMENT

MODE OF DELIVERY
Face-to-face and distance learning: face-to-face and remote presentations using computer and slide projection. Assisted use of a whiteboard for solving exercises and further explanation of the theory.
USE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
- Use of information technologies in face-to-face and distance learning: presentations, exercises and examples.
- Use of information technologies in communication with students: promotion of teaching materials, announcements, assignments, etc., via eClass.

ASSESSMENT METHODS ASSESSMENT METHODS: Evaluation language: Greek
-Alternative examination and marking methods:
-Final written examination in June or September: 100%.
-Optional mid-term written examination and final written examination in June or September: 40% + 60% = 100%.
The student receives the highest possible grade that can be obtained from the above cases.
- Student evaluation method:
Written examination with problems (formative, deductive).
The above grading algorithm is available to students through the course website
